Wilco Rocks

arrived in Raleigh in the early afternoon and met Cathy at her work (North Carolina Railroad), and right away noticed the pine trees all around the parking lot...in the evening BJ, Cathy and the kiddies went to see a RailHawks soccer game in Cary while Matt & I were dropped off at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre to see Wilco's show (yes, I planned it that way)...

the venue was outstanding...very well manicured, almost too nice actually...the crowd was mellow and cookie-cutterish...I think all the dudes there wore cargo shorts and flip flops...Jeff Tweedy said several times Cary seemed like a "nice crowd," great emphasis on "nice." Tweedy also made a comment about the "Crescent Cafe" located within the venue and asked if he could get a danish which was pretty funny. I had a great time...drank (too) good...and rocked out...the set list:

Hi - That sounds like an AMAZING show! I last saw Wilco in San Jose on the "GHOST IS BORN" tour and it was - possibly - the best show I've ever seen! I love Nils the new(ish) guitar player.

You wrote about my band Pistol Opera's tribute song to Barack Obama, "OBAMA", back in June. We just finished a really cool and funny video for the track, and we want to share it with all Obama supporters.

"OBAMA" is a tongue-in-cheek but totally sincere show of support for Senator Obama, and I hope you enjoy it. Please feel free to post the video anywhere you like, and any help forwarding the link on to other Obama suporters would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for your time. Have a great day and GO OBAMA!
